This page exists to show my thoughts on anything, with the exception of vidya, I "consoom". I don't want to fill up articles or personal updates, which are supposed to be real life based, with this kind of content, so I've made a dedicated area which may spawn in individual pages in the future.
Takopi's Original Sin episodes 5-6
I finally finished watching 'Takopi's Original Sin'. I feel bad for not really caring about the last two episodes, as they would've made a much stronger emotional impact on me if I had watched all six episodes close together. But I'm afraid that Shizuka crying wouldn't really do it for me anyway, because I'm just not the kind of person who has much sympathy for people like her or Marina.
I must say that episode 5 was very good, and I enjoyed Takopi's backstory. Throughout the series, I found it very amusing whenever Takopi blithely exclaimed something morbid, like "We'll kill her-pi!" The Planet Happy scenes looked beautiful, and I'd say that the flashback scenes (consisting of Marina and Takopi's backstories) were timed well, and allowed the first few episodes to have the great effect I remember them having on me without knowing the full story.
The "happy" ending is nice, but it felt rushed, and I would've preferred to have seen a second half of the series to find out how Takopi made the timeline go happy in more depth. I also think the series brushed over the main characters' real struggles in the last episode, ignoring their problematic family lives completely in favour of making Shizuka and Marina "friends". Thinking about it, I really don't like the ending. I wouldn't have guessed that Takopi had it in him to serve as a guiding voice from the heavens without getting into any trouble, since, as Naoki rightfully pointed out, he is pretty stupid. Speaking of Naoki, I like him, and I'm glad he got the most "reasonable" ending. His detachment from Shizuka is sad but certainly for the best.
The story feeling a bit rushed aside, this anime really does look amazing. The characters look lovely and defective at the same time, and the images above speak for themselves.
