22.03.2026 - v1.0.8 - Maybe not every update needs a name
If I only add an article or some similar content, particularly if it's a blog entry, I probably won't write an update entry here. However, I believe have free will, so if I do want to write an update entry for the hell of it, I will.
- Added more asides to articles
- Added the What's In a Start Page? article
- Planned to add a calendar view showing days with updates, but scrapped because it'd be too much work, cool idea though
- Added a 'scale' class to images to improve responsive design, preventing (e.g. image) overflow
- Added notice to the "What I've been playing" section in gaming
- Added a blog entry to the bum blog
- Added an email contact on the home page, if you want to send me a message for any reason
- Removed the happening, as the Middle East situation has reached a stable nothing ever happens equilibrium
21.03.2026 - v1.0.7.1 - Consoomer Corner has a format now
Minor update, as I basically just added an entry to the consoomer corner, but it's the first one, so it counts as "initialising" the webpage.
05.03.2026 - v1.0.7 - Fixed the CSS and a few other tweaks
- Added the Consoomer Corner, no content yet
- Posted the new happening to the happening page
- Added a missing <hr> tag on this page
- Added a what I'm playing now section to the gaming page, and changed a background colour
- Added the neocities profile link to the home page
- Reconfigured all of the flex styles as it was not maintainable and scalable
- Added multiple asides in one right/left side column
- Removed some of the missing links to save space
- Changed a bunch of other various CSS styles to standardise the website, so that I can make changes directly in HTML files when I want to
- Changed a lot of h2 tags to h3 tags
- Overload of "More coming soon!" asides
- Added the bum blog
- Added an "About" section to the home page so people can get an immediate vague idea of who I am
- Removed some blockquote tags and CSS styles which were literally doing nothing
- Probably removed a comma
28.02.2026 - v1.0.6 - 2026 Revival
From now on, updates in the Updates section will refer exclusively to changes made to the website or its development. If I have a lot to write about an update, a link to the associated article will be posted here. In example, you can find A Prolonged Update here.
- Reworked how updates work as above
- Shortened the updates view on the home page to titles only
- Actually implemented Articles
- Added an articles view on the home page, like the updates view
- Added A Prolonged Update
- Added Conflation of Real Life and Online identities
- Modified hyperlink colours
- Switched the border colours of the nav and main elements
- Animated the background so it slides from top-left to bottom-right
- Fixed the iMood text
- Changed dates from dd.mm.yy to dd.mm.yyyy format
- Changed various font size and text decoration formatting
- Removed a comma
17.07.2025 - v1.0.5.1 - I happen to lie a bit
There was no nighttime update and there is no major update today either. I seem to be in a bit of a rut again, and I'm blaming it on my sleep schedule. I've been getting to sleep between 1 and 2 in the morning, and waking between 10 and 11... in the morning. At first glance, this seems natural and good, but it seems like being exposed to the light of day for most of my sleep isn't making me very bright and cheerful, and it doesn't feel like I'm getting nine hours of sleep. I feel better prepared to work when I've only had seven hours funnily enough, I suppose out of habit. But all that aside, I have actually made some changes to the website. I had to struggle to understand how I had configured my headers to set up a template banner image for pages I just can't be bothered designing a brand new banner for, like Miscellaneous and the very much new My Hardware pages.
I also moved some of my files into a different folder, and learnt about the headache it is changing all of the hrefs to "folder/..." or even just "../...". I can't believe I chose to make a website for my (unrelated) Computer Science NEA, this is terrible. All that took me so much time I forgot what I was actually going to add to my website in the first place; Well it's proving difficult finding things to do or write about in the middle of the summer, truly, nothing ever happens.
16.07.2025 - v1.0.5 - I didn't kill myself
I have gleefully left this website to rot in the background for a couple months. I've been more involved in other things and less interested in this website than I expected, but that's quite alright, as this is something I can leave for a minute, or two months, and go back to when I'm ready, which is now. Really, two months isn't a very long time if I'm going to be maintaining a website until I die, which will happen in approximately 70 years.
Why have I returned now? Well I've already spent three weeks of summer holiday having a nice rest, really doing feck all, except for going on one open day. As a result, I've started to feel a little less fulfilled with my time, and I want to actually do stuff a little bit. This website serves as a convenient distraction from the mountain of work I'll have to cover over the next year. Working on it makes me feel like I'm doing something, like I'm recording and writing history, perhaps something for me to go back to and think about, while avoiding the boring important stuff I have to do.
As of now, I have made a few changes in the background; the navbar and right aside should look nicer on this index page. I have a few pages and ideas ready to go up when I finish sorting the layout of each section of the website. I'm a bit more confident in my CSS and JS, but to really improve, I'll have to use it, and I don't fancy starting on an important project, so I'll use it... here. I'll push a bigger update tomorrow, maybe a smaller one later today too, with some more layout changes and content.
18.05.2025 - v1.0.4.2
Hello, I have of course been busy with exams, but that's coming to an end soon, and I'm generally pleased with things. Over the past couple days I've set up Linux on my father's laptop, quite fun, and I've had quite a frustrating experience trying to get Waydroid working on my own laptop, although it's working well now, I may write more on this when I'm no longer busy. I've changed a few things on the site, preparing to add new pages and some "articles" finally.
27.04.2025 - v1.0.4.1
I have exams in a few weeks so most of my time has been dedicated toward studying, primarily revising old topics. For this reason I'm not updating the site much or playing many games or doing anything particularly interesting. With that said, there is now a page called physics to preserve some of the more important notes I need to remember for the subject, and to show that I'm still alive and I'm trying not to make a website who dies after 3 blog posts.
20.04.2025 - v1.0.4
I have added my big games list (or table?) at this page. It should be quite nice, although I have a lot of work to do on it (including finishing old games lol).
Furthermore, there has been yet another slight site redesign, hopefully nothing is broken!
18.04.2025 - v1.0.3
I have added a hit counter and last updated text on the home page
Credit for the JS code goes to Dannarchy at their tutorial on this.
17.04.2025 - v1.0.2
I've started the gaming page, and updated some little bits.
In terms of personal things, I have an OpenAI API account now! Without having many other expenses, having some tokens to play with seems like a pretty nice deal. I intend to make a project or two using the API in the future but for now I'm just having fun with it.
Otherwise, today was a nothingburger, basically nothing is happening at the moment.
16.04.2025 - v1.0.1
In the coming weeks I'm going to be quite busy with exams and projects, this site will have a studying focused page for a reason. This site is sort of a fun side thing to play with so I make "productive" use of my spare time, so I'll try to update it frequently, but this might not happen.
Once I have a few updates, articles, etc, I should try to implement a better system for them. Right now I intend to keep everything in each section on the same HTML document, which may not be best practice...
In the meantime, I'm adding base pages for each important section of the site, and filling the homepage with links and other little things.
12.04.2025 - v1.0
Hello World! I have made a website that I can use for personal purposes now, now that I know HTML/CSS.
I don't have very much to say at the moment, but I'm making sure that a couple pages can transfer to Neocities for now, so I can use the website without setting up a localhost or going directly to the html file.
I also wanted to simply create an account now, so I can follow other sites and hopefully gain some inspiration. I have decent technical skills now but my creativity and writing are probably what you'd expect if you knew me (bad).
The Neocities account and website were technically created in 2023, but I didn't do anything, and I chose to focus on exams rather than learning HTML/CSS and creating a website, which was quite a fair decision in my opinion. ALSO: My laptop has a 2560x1600 (16:10) resolution, so my website may look a little weird on some devices.
